Last month strategy for Guaranteed success in MDCAT 2023


If you are a repeating student then you must have completed your revisions till now and if you are a fresher then don't be stressed that much if you are left with a few chapters to revise, do that quickly within a few days and then follow the strategy below.


All you have to do is to set a target of solving 500 mcqs per day!


*** And after you solve some questions (for example a 200 MCQs paper) then:

First evaluate your score

And second (most important) review & correct the MCQs that you were wrong in.

Always learn from your mistake so that you never repeat them again.


Trust me this is the single most important thing that you should do and you would never regret doing this.


If you can't buy mcqs books for that, don't worry download different academies' MCQs books and regular tests (along with keys) in PDFs 


All this seems hard to you?

Remember this is just one month and how you spend this time would definitely shape your whole future life.

Is MBBS in Pakistan still worth it?

 

Does MBBS in Pakistan still worth it?


I'm a third year MBBS student from KPK Pakistan and to answer this question I'm going to provide you a little background detail:

First of all due to various reasons there is much competition in pretty much every field of study now a days in Pakistan. Doing simple Bachelor and Masters would give you a government job for a teaching position in PST or CT/SST in case you were above the average in your class and if you were among the top 0.1% then maybe you avail a Lectureship or some other CSS/PMS post.

Second option with you is having some technical education/ nursing/ Pharmacy degree and then going abroad if your family can afford this is also a Good option but luck would also matter in addition to your qualification.

Comparing both the above options with having an MBBS degree and being a doctor:

As a doctor you have two options: applying for a government job and/or having a private clinical practice

Now again if you were above average in your class then you can get a government job and in either case can do private practice which again would depend on your skills how upto what extent you make it.

So compared to doing a simple BS, MBBS has the plus point that you can practice privately and independently.

Thus I would suggest my youngers to choose this if you are willing to and can make your place in open merit. 

In case you couldn't make it in open merit then going for it in private medical colleges is not that much appreciable untill and unless you are very eager to and have the potential to be in the top few students of your class.

The reason I won't appreciate going for MBBS privately is that it not only would require a good financial status but also regular studies and hard work.

According to my observation if one gives the same hard work that is required from him in MBBS to any of the common subject's Bachelor and Master degree then he easily be in the top few people of that subject who could qualify for the Lecturership/CSS/PMS posts.

So if you have the potential to study regularly and work hard then you have much lesser competition in all the fields outside medicine.

My message to MDCAT aspirants

 First of all congratulations to all of you for your good performance in the test, your hard work, struggle and consistency!

Especial congrats to those who are now able to avail admissions in their dream medical colleges.

My message to the students who are going to repeat this year:
It's okay to take rest for a while but don't fall in the trap thinking that you have plenty of time, and now that you can close your books for a month or two. Don't lose your consistency. I'm not saying to maintain your schedule as previous and study 10+ hours each day,
It's okay to reduce your study time.
What I would suggest you is that study just five hours daily but with consistency (if you are not going to college and have not got admission else where).

Otherwise if you have got admission elsewhere and have intention to prepare for the test alongside, then I would recommend to daily study just 3 hours but with a good focus, concentration and consistency.

If you were fresher this time and have scored 120+ then I am highly encouraging you not to lose hope at all and try again must!

We have created a Facebook group where InshAllah the content related to test would be shared in soft form and additionally proper guidance would be given to study exactly how it is required.

Till that I suggest you to reset your mind and have a new start. Start your revision from literally first chapter and first line of your book. Don't just go over the important points that you highlighted. Go through each and every line and try to understand that before jumping over the next line or topic. Don't skip any line under the shade of doubts. If anything confusing comes in your way Google it.
Don't worry about joining any academy at all if you have just the basic skills enough to understand what the book is saying to you, by just reading through it.

Lastly don't fall under the trap of FOMO*
* Fear of missing out admission in the academies

You may know according to the PMC (Pakistan Medical Commission) Syllabus for MDCAT 2021 the Test to be conducted on the expected date would contain MCQs from the common syllabus but still according to the previous experience students should be fully prepared and ready if some out if provincial syllabus MCQs are there by studying the federal board Islamabad books alongside their own.
